 Good thing, bad things, suggestions.
Post up things that went well, worked well this year. Also post up what didn't go well, and your suggestion to fix it. ( Note this isn't a whiner thread, it is for legit issues. If your post is judge by the mods as too whining, it will be deleted)

This is my 2nd year going to the event and I think this year was the best. The only thing I would change is the time of the year because it is to hot in May.

My first VI. It was good except driving.
The event itself was good. I was expecting more like "get together" eating but.. i guess with about 100 people, it's not that easy to organize such.

LOL But yeah maybe have the invasion be a little earlier in the year Feb or Mar.. Just because it will be a little bit cooler. I really liked the cruise (would be nice to get a little more participation) to the dam even though I busted my radiator and got lost but still fun non the less... A BBQ would be cool too but over all I think it went well... I can't wait for next year!!!

By the way.... driving long distance without cruise control is the worst part of all. Keeping my right foot steady on the accelerator was hard part after hour of driving. Argh.....

I don't because I don't have cruise control either. At least you had AC I mean common that was the real killer. I think the funnest thing was just watchin everyone get out of there cars with a wet back to there shirt.

lol very good point we do need to talk about how to stay in a sol train... team driving is very efficient and it will keep everyone together...
time of year... yes it was hot... we should really have it later or earlier in the summer cause its gross every one is all sweaty and nasty... if were not going to change the time of the year maybe change location so there is not to much sun... maybe a place with ore shade...
i think the main event should be a little shorter with a intermission or a recess... results should be announced @ night while having dinner together... that way there will be more anticipation...
i dont know what to say about the dam cruise cause i didn't go... but thats cause it was way early in the morning and i was super tired... and thats why others didn't goi assume...
we should have some activities... while everyone is checking out the cars maybe like a little rc car race track and the winner gets something nice for their car and a mini trophy... we should have a races to see who could take their del sol top off the fastest... or some sort of targa relay race where we line up in teams of five and we take one targa to the next car till the last car brigs its targa to the first... in the meet and greet we should have grand turismo 2 with del sols and the winner should get a sticker or something just more activities would be nice i would love to help to or organize these things let me know i think it would be awsome...
i think we should add a category or two like worst mis hap trip or worst sol and the winner gets like a gift card for auto zone or something like that...
ill list good things later and ill also list more suggestions

Great suggestions! Keep 'em comin'
On the Sol Train etiquite. Oh yeah! You are supposed to "FOLLOW THE LEADER" Not race him. It was quite funny to see the guy "racing" with me to nearly rear end that poor Ranger.
There are several ideas floating around for improvements to the meet. It will surely be cooler no matter what.
Liz and I with some of the AzSols (and Chris) did another cruise yesterday. We had a wonderful time.
One thing from me...
If I'm doing the cruises again, I will be sure to have a "drivers meeting" to ensure everybody understands the routes and turns etc. I hate losing people on a cruise. Especially my own wife. My Bad.
The Bonanza Lounge is very very happy with you all. Great customers!
I've got the bullhorn. I'll hold it for now.
One question to be added in here. How set are you people on sticking with the Orleans? I believe we can do some better things.
Shhhhhh. It's a secret.

phew! i wasn't sure whether or not we'd be invited back with the antics of some of the people there on saturday....
i'm not firmly attached to the orleans. i also think that we may be able to do better, but again i wouldn't mind having it there again. one nice thing is that it is off the strip, so traffic and parking aren't any problem at all.
haha i just realized this is probably my first trip to vegas that i didn't go anywhere near the strip!

I like Bonanza Lounge and am glad they are ok with hosting our event. Works out well.
May is too damn hot. I am a wimp with the heat
Just my personal preference, but I like staying on the strip. I like walking to pretty much anything. Shows, food, drinks, shops, clubs. No serious preference on hotel but central is cool. This year we were at the Imperial Palace.
two words = pool party!
I usually do not participate in the drives because I am slow. In the sol trains on the fwy I get left. Has been happening for 11 years now It's ok, no hurt feelings just the truth. I don't screw around when I drive and I don't speed.

Bonanaza was good place. But I think we could have been much more attracted if we were on main street.
Next year, I'm going to find out somewhere closer to main street where we can have same event.
