Team Sol Las Vegas Invasion IV
Vegas Invasion IV was a milestone for Team Sol. Not only did we break last years record number of del Sols in attendance, but I feel a lot of new lasting friendships where developed by nearly everyone there. After all, Team Sol is about the people. We are on big family who just happen to share a passion and love for the Honda del Sol. 44 cars made the trip out this year. Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming were represented this year. We also teamed up with the CRX Owners Club for a joint meet. Honda Tuning Magazine was present to capture the moments and will hopefully feature some of the owners they interviewed in upcoming editions of the magazine. I will never forget the time spent at this years Vegas Invasion meet. There are so many people to thank that helped pull it all together and I want them to know that everyone appreciated their hard work and efforts.
The meet and greet Welcome Party hosted by Auburndan and Felisha was unbelievable. They had a wonderful suite at the Luxor hotel. Everyone had a great time talking and having a few drinks. Meeting new faces and remembering Invasions of the past. A few people had a little too much to drink but no harm was done. :)
Saturday we all met up at the Desert Breeze Park and let me tell you that its name does it no justice...more like Desert Hurricane Park. The winds were pretty strong at times and I saw a few hoods shaking quite a bit on the latches as they were propped up so everyone can inspect the motor. In the past we have had much better weather, but all in all, it wasn't too bad. We were able to conduct our annual car judging and give away a few prizes via raffle during our time there. Unfortunately the BBQ grill was not cooperating very well, but the CRX Owners Club people kept at it and finally were able to get it going. The food was great!
Later that evening we met back up at the park to announce the winners of the judging that everyone did earlier and then head on out to Red Rock for a nice drive. By this time the temperature had dropped quite a bit and we all were bundled up in sweaters and jackets. We would do the drive non-the-less though. The rain was threatening, but it never came.
Sunday it was time to say goodbye to everyone and we all met up at the Fresh Market Buffet in the Orleans casino. We ate way too much food and laughed about our favorite moments from the past two days.
Thank you again to everyone who came out and thank you for your continued dedication to Team Sol.
